Who We Are

Three locals, one hometown

We're Trace and Tyler Rucarean, brothers born and raised in Gainesville and lucky enough to grow up at Gainesville Country Club in its heyday. Part of why we moved home and opened Future Country Club was what we saw happening to golf here.

Since opening, we've felt the difference: kids picking up the game, every local high school team welcomed to play the season, something special built inside two small indoor facilities. Now we want to take it outdoors, at a scale the whole community can get behind.

Ben Chase rounds out the group. A Gainesville attorney and Gator grad whose own path into the game ran entirely through public programs. Three locals, one hometown, and the ability to execute at a high level.

Tyler Rucarean

He's built this before.

A plus-4 with a professional playing career that took him across Asia, and a teaching career that has shaped more than a thousand students, including over sixty he coaches today as a teaching pro at Future Country Club.

He built and ran a full academy at Chimera Golf Club, where he also led the rebrand into one of the most popular courses in the Las Vegas area as its CSO. Off the course he runs @bestofgainesville, the largest community account in town, so he knows how to get Gainesville paying attention and rally a city around a place, without pricing anyone out.

Ben Chase

He brings the people together.

A Gainesville attorney and Gator grad, originally from Orlando, raised by a single mother who worked as many as four jobs, including more than thirty years for the City of Orlando. Ben knows firsthand what a public asset like Ironwood can mean to a community.

Golf found him through that city. In middle school, an Inner City Games after-school program taught him to play at Ventura Country Club, took him to meet Arnold Schwarzenegger, and brought him to Wide World of Sports to watch Tiger Woods. His first job was a counselor at the Colonialtown Neighborhood Center, and every round since has been tied to a city lesson or a college class, from a Valencia College course hitting into a retention pond to a weekly van ride out to the public course in law school.

His role is to rally the right people around the right vision: to reinvigorate the course and make the clubhouse a place where community grows, something every Gainesville resident can call their own. Ironwood is a beloved community asset, and that is exactly why it has value, and why together we can make it far better than it is today.

Trace Rucarean

Hometown, all in.

Came up at Gainesville Country Club, then made Ironwood his home course playing for the Buchholz High School golf team, and never put the game down. Back in Gainesville now, he's a regular at Ironwood again. Today he is CEO of Future Country Club.

He is also a software engineer and designer who has helped build and scale a residential solar company from the ground up. Design, engineering, strategy, and the technical knowhow to ship, all in one person. If The Track needs it built, branded, or figured out, he builds it.

The Promise

Better than ever, still for everyone

Let's be clear about what The Track is not: it is not becoming a bougie private club. We're not putting up a gate.

What we will do is take a fantastic property, breathe new energy into it, and make Ironwood far better than it's ever been. Somewhere locals want to be every week and visitors are clamoring to play.
