The Bid

Proven ideas. A Gainesville original.

The Track is not an untested idea. The best public golf venues in the world have already proven the pieces. We put them together in a way that could only exist here.

The Case

We learn from the best. We copy none of them.

Across the country and around the world, great golf venues have each proven a piece of the model. Three shaped us most, and the rest sharpen the edges.

Our Inspirations

The three that shaped us most

Two revitalized public courses and one obsessively detailed destination right down the road. Together they set the bar for The Track.

First Class

West Palm Beach, Florida

The Park

Our clearest model for what a modern public campus can be.

Proves

The public golf campus. One property with a championship course, a lighted short course, an evening range, instruction, dining, and youth programs, busy from morning to night.

At The Track

The Track builds a campus like it, tuned to Gainesville: the course, the Lit Trackman Range, The Dunk, The Mosquito, Payne’s Pinthouse, and the Passport.

Augusta, Georgia

The Patch

Proof you can revitalize a muni and keep its soul.

Proves

A historic muni reborn. Better golf, more practice, short golf, and food and drink, without erasing the history that made people care.

At The Track

Ironwood already has the history and the regulars. The Track writes its next chapter instead of wiping the slate clean.

First Class

Brooksville, Florida

Cabot Citrus Farms

World-class detail and design, right down the road.

Proves

Resort-level polish an hour from home. A lit short course, a massive putting green, food trucks, outdoor hangout spaces, and some of the cleanest, most thoughtful branding in golf.

At The Track

Cabot aims high-end and destination. The Track chases that same obsessive craft and detail, then makes it public and priced for Gainesville.

The Proof

And the rest of the blueprint

Six more public golf venues, each proving a piece of what The Track becomes. See any of them for yourself.

St Andrews, Scotland

The Himalayas

Proves

A simple grass putting course can become a multigenerational ritual. No gimmicks, just great contours and open access.

At The Track

The Dunk becomes Gainesville’s putting lawn. Not mini golf. A ritual.

Winter Park, Florida

Winter Park Golf Course

Proves

A small Florida muni can become a destination precisely because it feels like its town.

At The Track

Built for Gainesville first. A local institution visitors want to experience, not a tourist attraction locals tolerate.

Austin, Texas

Butler Pitch & Putt

Proves

Short golf, food, and drinks let golfers and non-golfers share the same place. Golf is the heartbeat, not the cover charge.

At The Track

The Mosquito, The Dunk, Payne’s, and the Range let one group practice, putt, eat, and watch the Gators together.

Oceanside, California

Goat Hill Park

Proves

Quality doesn’t require sterility. A course can get better, stay affordable, and keep its personality.

At The Track

Excellent without exclusive. The goal is for Gainesville to say, “that’s our golf course.”

Atlanta, Georgia

Bobby Jones Golf Course

Proves

One property can be many front doors into golf: regulation, practice, free short golf, juniors, and adaptive play.

At The Track

The property itself becomes the pathway in.

South Pittsburg, Tennessee

Sweetens Cove

Proves

Personality travels. People don’t just play there, they go there.

At The Track

The ambition: people stop saying “we played Ironwood” and start saying “we spent the day at The Track.”

One Ecosystem

The pieces, put together

The Track brings together a revitalized public golf course, a Lit Trackman Range, Future indoor golf bays, The Dunk putting course, The Mosquito pitch-and-putt, The Settlement 19th hole, the hidden Forest Secret, Payne’s Pinthouse, The Matchas, junior development, local makers, nighttime golf, community programming, and the Track Passport into one connected public golf ecosystem.

A serious golfer can come to practice.

A beginner can start at The Dunk.

A child can grow from putting, to pitching, to playing, to competing, to working, and eventually to mentoring the next generation.

A student can play The Mosquito after dark.

A family can spend an afternoon together.

Friends can settle a match at The Settlement.

Someone can grab a matcha in the morning, work outside, hit balls in the afternoon, and watch the Gators at Payne’s that night.

You do not have to play 18 holes to belong at The Track. You just have to show up.

The Difference

Quality and pride, without the gatekeeping

That is what makes The Track different.

The quality and pride of a great golf club without the gatekeeping.

The energy of a college town without becoming a college bar.

The character of old Florida without becoming a theme park.

The ambition of a destination golf property while remaining unmistakably local.

A Sense of Place

The best public golf belongs to its community

The Park belongs to West Palm Beach.

The Patch belongs to Augusta.

The Himalayas belongs to St Andrews.

Winter Park belongs to Winter Park.

Butler belongs to Austin.

Goat Hill belongs to Oceanside.

Sweetens Cove belongs to its corner of Tennessee.

The Track will belong to Gainesville.

Others have proven the pieces. The Track puts them together in a way that is entirely our own.

What They Prove Together

No single precedent is The Track

That is the opportunity. The Track learns from all of them, then Gainesville changes the equation.

The Park proves the public golf campus.

The Patch proves municipal rebirth without losing local soul.

Cabot Citrus Farms proves that relentless detail and design turn a golf property into an experience.

The Himalayas proves the power of a community putting ritual.

Winter Park proves that a local Florida course can become a destination by embracing its hometown.

Butler proves that short golf, food, drinks, and social culture can naturally coexist.

Goat Hill proves that accessibility and authentic identity can create fierce community loyalty.

Bobby Jones proves that one property can create multiple pathways into the game.

Sweetens Cove proves that personality and freedom can turn a golf property into a destination.

The goal is not to build Gainesville’s version of The Park, The Patch, or Cabot. The goal is to build the first Track. A place that learns from the best golf experiences in the world and creates something that could only exist here. Others have proven the pieces. The Track brings them together in a way that is entirely our own, and in doing so has the opportunity to create one of Florida’s most distinctive public golf experiences, and help put Gainesville golf back on the map.

The Track makes Gainesville a golf town again.
