Local pricing & public access

Good golf. Home advantage.

Top-tier facilities at local muni rates. A much better Ironwood, an exceptional place to practice and a price that keeps Gainesville coming back.

For the home crowd.

Our starting point is to keep everyday golf around Ironwood’s familiar municipal price level as we improve the experience. Our bigger goal is to bring the local green fee down toward $35 for a round on a vastly improved course.

We want locals to have a home course they are proud of, alongside an elite practice facility: a Proposed Trackman range with covered, lighted bays, short-game areas and The Dunk putting course. Top-tier facilities at local muni rates is the ambition.

The $35 figure is a goal, not an approved or bookable price. Final green fees, cart charges, practice options and any other inclusions will be published before booking opens.

How the rates would work

We are planning a meaningful local advantage. The people who live and work around the course should be able to make it part of an ordinary week, with public tee times available to visitors too.

  • Local rates: lower green fees for Alachua County residents and qualifying workers, with a goal of getting a local round toward $35.
  • Regional rates: a separate tier for the surrounding area, with the eligible area and requirements to be defined.
  • Visitor rates: public daily-fee golf priced for the Gainesville market, with a meaningful difference from the local rate.
  • Junior access: affordable play, free and low-cost learning opportunities, and a proposed pathway to earn play credits through learning.

The Park: great golf with a local advantage

The Park in West Palm Beach is one of our inspirations for pairing an outstanding public course and practice facilities with access for the people who live nearby. Its resident-card program offers discounted green fees for city residents, while daily prices vary with demand, time and season.

That principle matters to us: a course can welcome visiting golfers while giving its own community a different price. The Park’s current rates and eligibility are set by its operator.

The Patch: a big improvement, a small local green fee

The Patch in Augusta makes the local advantage especially clear. Its published 2026 rates list an 18-hole local green fee of $25 Monday through Thursday and $35 Friday through Sunday and holidays, compared with $85 and $95 for nonlocals. Cart rental is separate.

A redesigned public course with that kind of local access is a powerful example of what we want to work toward in Gainesville. These are The Patch’s published rates, not The Track’s prices; its eligibility rules and current policies apply.

Their example. Our hometown economics.

We do not expect The Track to be a place that can depend on $150-plus tourist green fees. Gainesville is its own market. Our plan is to keep everyday rates around a familiar municipal level and work toward substantially lower local pricing as we improve the golf.

The nonprofit direction lets us think more ambitiously about both quality and access. Philanthropic and community support could help fund course improvements, practice facilities and junior programs, reducing the pressure to recover every improvement through the price of a round.

We are pursuing that structure and support now. Sustainable maintenance and affordable access have to work together. The Park and The Patch inspire the approach; neither is an affiliated partner or an endorser of The Track.

Our public purpose and nonprofit direction

Make room for the next generation

Affordable junior play, free and low-cost learning opportunities, and equipment to borrow are priorities. We are developing a pathway for juniors to earn play credits through etiquette sessions and learning.

The aim is simple: make it easier to start and easier to come back. Schedules, funding, age groups and credit details will be shared before programs launch.

Meet the junior etiquette program

Your course, without a membership requirement

Daily-fee tee times would stay open to the public. You would not need a Lifetime Steward place to play, practice or enjoy the clubhouse. Stewards would have the same tee-time booking privileges as everyone else.

Final rates, the regional boundary, worker eligibility and any proof needed to qualify will be published before booking opens. This is The Track’s proposed approach, not a change to current Ironwood prices.
